About The Position

The Aggregate Groundman is responsible for assisting in the daily operations of aggregate production, including working around crushers, screens, conveyors, and other heavy equipment. This position supports the safe and efficient operation of crushing and screening plants, ensuring compliance with MSHA regulations and company safety standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to listen, understand, and follow directions.
  • Ability to work safely around heavy equipment and moving machinery.
  • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn aggregate plant operations.
  • Flexibility to perform various tasks as assigned.
  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking on uneven surfaces.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
  • Ability to work in varying outdoor weather conditions and noisy environments.
  • Manual dexterity required to operate tools and equipment.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in the aggregate or mining industry preferred.
  • MSHA Part 46 or Part 48 training certification preferred or ability to obtain upon hire.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in the setup, operation, and maintenance of aggregate crushers and screening plants.
  • Performs routine inspections of crushers, conveyors, and screens to identify and report maintenance needs.
  • Monitors material flow and ensures proper feed and discharge of aggregate products.
  • Cleans, lubricates, and maintains equipment according to safety and maintenance schedules.
  • Assists in the preparation of project sites by removing debris and ensuring a safe and organized work environment.
  • Transports materials, tools, and equipment to and from the job site as needed.
  • Operates construction machinery such as forklifts, skid steers, or small hand tools as necessary.
  • Assists in digging, grading, and other manual labor tasks related to plant operations.
  • Adheres to MSHA and company safety policies, including the proper use of PPE and lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Participates in safety meetings, inspections, and site audits as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
