About The Position

Pacific Northwest Transportation Services (PNWTS) is seeking an energetic and positive individual to join their Flagging team for the seasonal period (April – October). PNWTS is the exclusive supplier of buses for the Greater Victoria Harbour Authority (GVHA), providing motor coaches and double-decker buses for shore excursion tours and shuttle connections for cruise lines. They are also the sole provider of dispatch services on the Terminal. This role is responsible for directing driver and pedestrian traffic to ensure a safe and organized terminal operation.

Requirements

Valid Traffic Control Certificate
Sound knowledge of local traffic regulations
Ability to use hand signals and directional equipment to coordinate traffic flows
Can stand for extended periods, regardless of weather conditions
Available to work a variety of shifts, with adaptable scheduling
Demonstrate excellent communication and observational skills
Work effectively in a team environment
Conduct tasks in a polite and professional manner
Legally entitled to work in Canada
Steel-toed boots

Responsibilities

Managing the flow of vehicle, tour bus, and pedestrian traffic in and out of terminal entrances in a safe manner, including directing and controlling traffic on roads leading to and from the terminal
Executing an effective traffic management plan with appropriate equipment
Effective communications to control the flow of traffic
Fills in and performs the responsibilities of Ground Transportation Control as needed
