About The Position

The COMET contract provides overall management and implementation of ground systems capabilities, flight hardware processing, and launch operations at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida. These tasks will support the International Space Station, Exploration Ground Systems, Space Launch System, Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle, and Launch Services programs. The Ground Systems Support (GSS) organization is looking for a second shift Technical Integrator to support multiple programs for National Aeronautics and Space Administration's (NASA). The candidate will provide technical planning support primarily for Operations and Maintenance shops to include including Cranes, Doors and Platforms (CDP), Crawler Transporters and Structures (STS), Emergency Egress Systems (EES), Ignition Overpressure and Sound Suppression (IOP-SS), and secondary back-up support to Launch Equipment Shop (LES).

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; four years related experience.
  • Valid US Drivers License Required
  • Possess moderate knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs, such as Outlook, Work, Excel, PowerPoint and TEAMS.
  • Technically and mechanically inclined with experience in heavy equipment operations and maintenance, move operations of large objects, lifting/rigging equipment and mobile and/or overhead cranes, forklifts, dollies, and slings.
  • Familiar with the concept of work control and the work order lifecycle.
  • Familiar with the concept of preventative maintenance.
  • Exhibit concise communication skills daily, both orally and written.
  • Exhibit customer service skills daily, required for customer interaction to discuss requirements.
  • Must follow strict work area rules and safety protocols.
  • Demonstrate to work instructions to maximize the efficiency of crews.
  • Must be organized and detail oriented.
  • Must be self-motivated, team player comfortable working in a dynamic environment.
  • Proven knowledge in a computerized maintenance/work management system.
  • Functionally skilled in identifying parts/materials needed to support scheduled work activities for specialized work area.
  • Skilled at recognizing conflicts and possess the ability to collaborate with technical shop into workaround solutions to minimize schedule impact.
  • Must be able to coordinate work between multiple disciplines to ensure work is coordinated and planned.
  • Must comply with all “drug free workplace” requirements as mandated by directives issued by the appropriate federal contracting officer

Nice To Haves

  • A background in production control, preventative maintenance planning, parts and material kitting, logistics inventory processes, and component calibration and cleaning processes are highly desired.

  • Ability to read engineering schematics, drawings, and engineerings specifications is a plus.
  • Experience working with represented employees is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Create work orders in Maximo.
  • Review work instructions for completeness.
  • Collaborate with engineering on work requirements.
  • Provide verbal and written communication timely.
  • Actively participate in daily scheduling meetings to understand work priorities, resolve technical planning issues for the heavy equipment, high crew and proof load shops.
