About The Position

Under minimal supervision, the Ground Support Master Mechanic performs master level work in the diagnostic, overhaul, adjustment, repair and maintenance of company vehicles and ground support equipment. Completes metal fabrication and repairs as needed. Mentors other Ground Support staff.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of six (6) years related experience and/or certified training, or equivalent combination of education, experience and certification.
  • Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) certifications or equivalent experience required.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Advanced skills in mechanical and electrical troubleshooting for vehicle and mobile equipment repairs such as solid-state frequency converters, hydraulic test benches (mules), diesel ground power units and air start units.

Nice To Haves

  • Welding experience preferred.
  • Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification preferred.
  • Forklift/Boom lift/Scissor lift repair certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs detailed troubleshooting and diagnostic repair of all support equipment and vehicles using approved materials and procedures as required.
  • Performs preventive maintenance on all support equipment and vehicles per program requirements using approved procedures and documentation as required.
  • Drives vehicles on or off site to diagnose and test repairs, as well as reposition vehicles or equipment.
  • Proactively identifies and report all problems to ensure equipment remains in safe and operational working condition.
  • Documents work performed including but not limited to labor, materials and changes to original work based on diagnostic findings.
  • Oversees and supports work by GSE Mechanics and Support Technicians.
  • Provides mentorship to other Ground Support staff on equipment and repair maintenance.
  • Provides support to Ground Support Lead as needed.
  • Interacts with aircraft operations personnel to ensure equipment, troubleshooting and equipment repairs meet their expectations.
