About The Position

AM Pierce & Associates and Applied Technologies Group (ATG), a woman-owned small business, is seeking a candidate to perform as an Engineer – Journeyman. This role will support PMA-262, the Persistent Maritime Unmanned Aircraft Systems Program Office, specifically focusing on the Ground Station (GSEG) IPT. The primary responsibilities involve ensuring the effective design, integration, and sustainment of the MQ-4C's Unmanned Aircraft System ground control segment. This includes the Main Operating Base (MOB), Forward Operating Base (FOB), Mission Control System (MCS), Remote Quick Look (RQL), and associated infrastructure. The position is located in Patuxent River, MD and is an on-site role.

Requirements

  • Active DoD Secret Clearance, required.
  • Bachelor of Arts or Science degree in related discipline.
  • At least three to ten (3-10) years of experience in Systems Engineering supporting DoD aircraft systems, DoD weapons systems, DoD systems or DoD support systems, consisting of the design, development, integration and system testing of computer hardware, computer software, and navigation, sensor and communication subsystems.

Responsibilities

  • Perform engineering duties in architecting, designing, integrating and testing unmanned aircraft ground systems.
  • Conduct basic and applied research to evaluate the suitability of computer software and IT/networking hardware as they apply to the ground station design, fabrication, installation, and operation.
  • Recommend improvements in equipment and techniques.
  • Perform the role of System Network Architect.
  • Coordinate technical input from NAVAIR subject matter experts to form technical recommendations to program engineering and program management.
  • Ensure that program procedures and controls are followed.
  • Manage projects and lead problem resolution efforts.
  • Perform integration and provide technical oversight of the Mission Control System (MCS), Launch and Recovery Element (LRE), and communication systems to ensure seamless interoperability between the MQ-4C air vehicle and ground control infrastructure.
  • Manage system requirements, configuration baselines, and documentation, supporting design reviews, change control, and alignment with program objectives and operational needs.
  • Coordinate and support test events, site activations, and system verifications for Main and Forward Operating Bases.
  • Collaborate with contractors, Fleet users, and government stakeholders to resolve technical issues, plan sustainment and upgrade efforts, and ensure mission readiness across U.S. and FMS sites.
