About The Position

Anduril Industries is a defense technology company focused on transforming military capabilities with advanced technology. The Space team specifically aims to expand AI-powered capabilities into space, enhancing Space Domain Awareness, Space Control, and Command and Control for U.S. military and allied partners. They are developing integrated hardware and software systems, including Lattice for Space Missions and modular payloads, to address threats in space. As a Software Engineer on the Space Ground Software team, you will be responsible for the architecture and deployment of software solutions supporting customer missions for space operations and mission management. This role involves developing modular capabilities for DoD and IC customers, architecting the Space C2 system on the Anduril Lattice software platform, and integrating with both orbital and ground systems, including legacy defense systems and new space capabilities. The team works with mission partners and operators to deploy reliable capabilities on operationally-relevant timelines.

Requirements

  • Strong engineering background from industry or school, ideally in areas/fields such as Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics
  • Ability to quickly understand and navigate complex systems and detailed requirements
  • Capable of solving complex technical problems with little oversight
  • Clear communication and organizational skills including documentation and training material
  • 3+ years working with a variety of programming languages such as Java, Python, C++, Rust, Go, JavaScript, etc.
  • Experience with Space C2 software systems and spacecraft operations
  • A desire to work on critical software that has a real-world impact
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Go, Rust, or C++
  • Experience with deployment tooling such as Kubernetes, OpenShift, or Helm
  • Previous exposure to space ground hardware like sensors, radars, telescopes
  • Previous exposure to space-related simulation and hardware integration
  • A desire to work on critical software in the space domain
  • Experience with existing space software standards and modular software services development

Responsibilities

  • Own the software solutions that are deployed to customers
  • Own the development of Space C2 and Mission Management capabilities to enable delivery of end-to-end mission systems
  • Integrate with legacy systems to unlock 21st-century capabilities
  • Write code to improve products and scale the mission capability to different users more customers
  • Collaborate across multiple teams to plan, build, and test complex functionality
  • Create and analyze metrics that are leveraged for debugging and monitoring
  • Triage issues, root cause failures, and coordinate next-steps
  • Partner with end-users to turn needs into features while balancing user experience with engineering constraints
