Persons employed as a GSE Mechanic is expected to inspect and maintain ground support equipment used in operations. This includes troubleshooting, repairing, and overhauling ground support equipment. They will also check and service equipment with fuel, water, oil, and hydraulic fluid, and diagnose problems using test equipment and applicable manuals. The role involves building and assembling machines or mechanical components, inspecting machines, engines, and transmissions, and running diagnostic tests to discover functionality issues. The mechanic will conduct repairs aiming for maximum reliability, perform thorough maintenance on machinery, equipment, and systems, and clean and apply lubricants to machinery components. They will also replenish fluids and components of engines and machinery, provide consultation on correct maintenance and preventative measures, and keep logs of work and report on issues. Completion of GSE paperwork is also required.
