The Ground Operations Specialist is responsible for coordinating all ground handling, catering, fueling, airport permits, and related functions for charter flights, ensuring adherence to contract specifications and requirements. This position may require travel on certain trips to ensure flawless service and schedule integrity. The successful candidate will find personal satisfaction in coordinating activities under demanding circumstances. The Ground Operations Specialist plans charter flights from origin to destination, setting up services such as ground handling, catering, landing permits, crew transportation, and fueling at airports worldwide.

Requirements

4-year degree from an accredited university or equivalent experience.
Knowledgeable of FAA and TSA Regulations.
High performance orientation, ability to work well under pressure, in a fast-paced environment, prioritize projects, meet deadlines, and maintain flexibility.
Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills.
Self-starter with a positive attitude and strong desire for success.
Willingness to work nights, weekends, and off-hours if required.
Ability to complete projects on time with minimal supervision.
Ability to work varied hours when necessary to meet operational priorities and work assignment deadlines.
Experience with Microsoft Excel.
2+ years in commercial airline/charter flights operations or similar relevant experience.
Excellent attention to detail, communication, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.

Ability to communicate and understand needs from stakeholders across the organization.

Responsibilities

Serve as the operational point of contact and subject matter expert for charter flights at Eastern Airlines.
Arrange ground handling, catering, landing permits, ground transportation, and fueling at destination airports.
Proactively identify potential issues in charter missions and develop backup plans for high-risk problems.
Develop and implement contingency plans to manage service disruptions caused by weather, air traffic control, or mechanical issues.
Ensure standard work procedures are consistently followed throughout each flight segment, adhering to FAA/TSA regulations.
Collaborate with Safety and Security teams to ensure compliance with federal regulations and guidelines.
Monitor the status of all planned and in-progress flights from origin to destination (flight following).
Communicate efficiently and provide timely updates to external and internal stakeholders.
Effectively communicate with external stakeholders (Clients, DOD, Brokers, etc.) to understand their operational charter needs.
Communicate efficiently with internal stakeholders (SOC, charter sales, etc.) to inform and raise awareness of trip-specific priorities.
Oversee and implement safety initiatives, on-time operational performance, and IROP management and recovery plans within charter mission segments.
Work closely with the direct manager and operational group to ensure the charter program meets customer operational goals and airline business objectives.
Collaborate with the Charter Sales team to achieve pricing and commercial goals.
Implement and refine processes and workflows to continuously enhance charter operations procedures and service levels.
Work with colleagues across the organization to develop, implement, and achieve strategic objectives for charter flights and the airline.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager, Ground Operations.
