About The Position

A Ground Handler position is an ideal job for individuals interested in being involved in the aviation industry but have no formal education or training. This summer term position provides a safe and stable work environment in which to actively support RCAF training. The Ground Handler is responsible for the towing and grooming of company aircraft that are used for flight training by the RCAF.

Requirements

  • Valid Manitoba Driver’s License.
  • Reliable transportation
  • Grade 12 education.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Works well within a team as well as unsupervised.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Basic computer and math skills.
  • Able to communicate in a professional manner.
  • Physically fit and able to carry up to a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Positive attitude.
  • Ability to work a rotating shift including days, afternoons, evenings and some weekends.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Works and Government Services Enhanced Reliability Clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Towing aircraft in compliance with all company operating and safety procedures.
  • Assisting with the fueling of aircraft as required.
  • Washing and grooming of aircraft.
  • Assisting mechanics with general hangar maintenance.
  • Communicating effectively with all points of contact throughout shift.
  • Other duties as assigned.
