About The Position

At Wag N Wash, we believe pets are family. As a Pet Groomer, you do more than make pets look great — you help them feel comfortable, cared for, and confident. You’ll build relationships with pet parents, provide expert grooming services, and create a safe, positive experience for every pet that walks through our doors. This role is ideal for experienced groomers who take pride in their craft and want to grow in a pet-first, neighborly environment.

Requirements

1+ year of professional grooming experience (Pet Groomer, Dog Groomer, or Pet Stylist)
Ability to perform breed-standard cuts (AKC standards preferred)
Experience with hand scissoring, clipping, and finishing techniques
Strong understanding of animal behavior and safe handling practices
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Ability to lift up to 65 lbs and stand for extended periods
Availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays
You value safety first—you are not expected to groom aggressive or unsafe pets
Thrive in a team-based salon environment with consistent client flow and support

Responsibilities

Provide full-service dog grooming including bathing, brushing, clipping, and styling
Groom to breed standards or customize based on each pet parent’s request
Safely groom an average of 5–7 dogs per day (mix of full grooms and bath services)
Deliver a grooming experience that gives every pet their best “spaw day”
Help a nervous rescue feel comfortable or turn a muddy mess into a proud pup
Build relationships with neighbors and recommend products/services for ongoing pet care
Manage appointments and rebook clients using in-store tools
Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming salon environment
Support store events and collaborate with your team to grow your client base
