About The Position

Destination Pet is seeking a passionate Groomer to join The Posh Paw Pet Resort team. This role is for individuals who are skilled in grooming various breeds and coat types, turning scruffy pups into showstoppers. The team at Destination Pet is described as caring, laughing often, and dedicated to pet well-being. Destination Pet has been providing top-tier pet care services including grooming, daycare, boarding, veterinary services, and training since 2016.

Requirements

• Professional grooming experience.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
• Must be able to stand for long periods.
• Must be able to manage large or nervous dogs safely.
• Must be able to work in a physically active environment with heat, cold, water, and noise.
• Proven experience grooming a wide range of breeds and coat types.
• Time management, attention to detail, and a customer-first mindset.
• Familiarity with pet behavior, stress signals, and safe handling practices.
• Clear communication skills with clients, teammates, and pets.
• Reliable, calm under pressure, and excited to keep learning.
• Love for animals and treating each one like they’re your own.
• Experience grooming that can manage 8-10 dogs per day with bather if available.

Responsibilities

• Snipping, shaping, and styling pets based on owner preferences or breed standards.
• Trimming nails, cleaning ears, brushing teeth, and tidying up the tail end.
• Bathing dogs (or working with bathers to prep pets for grooming).
• Chatting with pet parents about grooming needs, coat care, and what’s trending in tails.
• Keeping your station neat, your tools sharp, and your vibe fresh.
• Tagging in the front desk when pups are fluffed, puffed, and ready for pickup.
• Providing a calm, kind, safe experience for every animal in your care.
• Representing Destination Pet’s values of compassion, quality, and community.
• Managing 8-10 dogs per day with a bather if available.
