About The Position

This is a part-time, benefits-eligible position for a Grocery Stocker, requiring 24 hours per week. The primary purpose of this role is to ensure that displays, coolers, shelves, and bins are adequately stocked, cleaned, and rotated. The position also involves providing prompt, friendly, and courteous customer service, and meeting merchandising goals for the Grocery, Bread, Frozen, and Meat departments.

Requirements

Ability to lift up to 60 lbs. continuously.

Responsibilities

Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers with product questions in a prompt, friendly, and courteous manner.
Stock displays, shelves, bins, coolers and freezers fully without overcrowding. Front and face items on shelf.
Rotate older stock to the front, making room for new stock.
Pull short date or low quality; notify appropriate department buyer before disposing of, following established procedures.
Label items accurately with price tags and/or signs. Report pricing discrepancies to appropriate department buyer.
Maintain stocking lists and communicate with other shifts. Notify department buyer of out of stocks.
Scan orders with Scan Genius, when necessary, to verify piece count and notify appropriate department personnel of discrepancies.
Check for damage and unacceptable quality; notify appropriate department buyer of discrepancies.
Help with unloading as necessary.
Rotate overstock into storage.
Update stocking lists as orders come in.
Keep retail and storage areas in neat and clean condition. Dust shelves and products while stocking. Clean and maintain bulk area. Clean spills and other hazards. Sweep and mop floors; remove trash and recyclables; keep aisles clear.
Monitor cooler and freezer temperature; follow established procedures for handling breakdowns.
Keep department equipment in assigned areas and in working order, notify manager of breakdowns.
