That's WEIS! This role is responsible for keeping the Grocery department well stocked, organized and appealing to meet customer demands and maximize sales. The associate will build displays to drive incremental sales, stock and rotate merchandise to ensure freshness, and ensure product is within easy customer reach. They will also store excess merchandise according to backroom organization guidelines, greet customers, answer questions, and resolve concerns promptly. The role involves applying proper stocking techniques, ensuring merchandise is in saleable condition with correct prices and signs, and potentially assisting with receiving, unloading, and storing deliveries. Handling damaged or discontinued items, removing unsaleable product, and maintaining general sanitation in the department are also key responsibilities. The associate must follow cleaning schedules and department guidelines to ensure work areas, equipment, counters, and display cases are well maintained, clean, and meet health and OSHA requirements. Disposing of trash properly, maintaining productivity standards, work methods, shrink control, and complying with security regulations are also expected. The role requires putting out stock at an acceptable rate, potentially assisting with baling cardboard, and ensuring smooth function of the department and store by cooperating with co-workers and supervisors. Continuous improvement of job performance and utilization of all company-provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is expected. The associate may also be called upon to assist in other departments.

Requirements

Completed or working towards a High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
No prior experience required.

Responsibilities

Keeps the Grocery department well stocked, organized and appealing to meet customer demands and maximize sales.
Build displays to drive incremental sales.
Stocks and rotates merchandise to ensure freshness.
Keeps product within easy customer reach.
Stores excess merchandise according to backroom organization guidelines.
Smiles and greets customers, answers customer questions and helps resolve customer concerns promptly in a polite and professional manner.
Applies proper stocking techniques to ensure products are properly located on shelves, ensures merchandise is in saleable condition with correct prices and signs.
May assist with receiving, unloading, checking-in, breaking-down, and storing deliveries through operation of power jack or hand jack (if properly trained –training provided).
Handles damaged or discontinued items according to company policy.
Removes product that cannot be sold.
Responsible for general sanitation in the department.
Follows cleaning schedules and department guidelines to ensure that work areas, equipment, counters, display cases, etc. are well maintained, clean and meet all health and OSHA requirements.
Disposes of trash properly.
Maintains productivity standards, work methods and standards and shrink control.
Complies with security regulations and policies.
Puts out stock at an acceptable rate as determined by company standards.
May assist with baling cardboard or other related duties (if properly trained. Training provided).
Ensures smooth function of department and store by cooperating with co-workers and supervisors.
Responsible to continuously improve job performance.
Responsible for utilization of all company provided Personal Protected Equipment (PPE).
