About The Position

This position is responsible for assisting the Grocery Manager and the Grocery Third Person in the day-to-day operations of the Grocery Department. Key responsibilities include championing customer service programs, handling customer relations effectively, performing various grocery duties such as ordering, receiving, stocking, and merchandising, and ensuring compliance with company policies on sanitation, safety, and security. The role also involves controlling shrink, preventing the sale of out-of-code products, and potentially acting as a backup cashier. The individual must be able to open and close the store and engage in suggestive selling techniques, performing all duties with accuracy, honesty, and integrity.

Mental alertness to ensure safe and accurate completion of work activities.
Ability to work at different times of the day and with little or no supervision.
Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
May utilize cleaning supplies and chemicals and safety cutters.
Complies with all Company policies including attendance, grooming standards, and dress code.

Responsibilities

Champion Company and Division customer service programs to meet or exceed Division customer service goals.
Handle customer relations in a positive manner, including effective resolution of customer complaints.
Promote Albertson’s philosophy of personalized service.
Perform ordering, receiving, storing, pricing, stocking, rotating, and merchandising duties.
Assist the Grocery Manager and the Grocery Third Person in planning, organizing, and directing day-to-day operations of the Grocery Department.
Assist in implementing Company and Division merchandising policies and/or Store Director instructions.
Control shrink.
Prevent the sale of out-of-code product.
Ensure compliance with Company sanitation, safety, security, and other policies.
Initiate corrective action as needed.
Open and close the store.
May act as back up cashier.
Engage in suggestive selling and other sales techniques.
Perform all job duties with accuracy, honesty, and integrity.
Perform other necessary and required duties and responsibilities as assigned.
