About The Position

Goodness Me! is seeking an experienced and customer-focused, full-time Grocery Department Manager for their Burlington store location. This role involves leading and managing the daily operations of the Grocery Department, with a focus on sales, labour, and waste targets. The company emphasizes healthy living and a passion for helping people live longer, healthier, and happier lives, with a history of providing healthy products for nearly 40 years. They are not a mainstream grocery store, focusing on the discovery and education of healthy living products.

Requirements

3-5 years of management experience
Experience in maintaining operational excellence in retail stores (payroll, shrink and inventory management, etc)
A solid understanding of sales forecasts for establishing key targets for the department
A strong work ethic and a ‘can-do’ attitude
Ability to work primarily daytime shifts, with evening/weekend availability

Responsibilities

Leading and managing the daily operations of the Grocery Department, with a focus on sales, labour, and waste targets.
Building and maintaining relationships with new and returning customers.
Maintaining a high level of product and service knowledge.
Ensuring stock is appropriately rotated and satisfactory inventory levels are maintained.
Participating in merchandising and promotional activities.
Ensuring adherence to company and industry regulations.
Interviewing and onboarding new team members.
Motivating and inspiring team members while ensuring that productivity levels remain high.
Executing performance management conversations with team members.
Assisting in rolling out new policies and ensuring team members are compliant.
