About The Position

The Grocery Coordinator oversees and manages Grocery department operations, including scheduling, ordering, productivity, budgeting, inventory, gross profit and reporting. They supervise and coach Grocery Department staff, and model and provide excellent, professional customer service.

Requirements

  • Proven ability to provide excellent, professional customer service
  • Previous supervisory experience required
  • Extensive background in high-volume retail grocery management
  • Proven ordering and inventory management skills
  • Strong merchandising skills
  • Demonstrated organizational and planning skills
  • Excellent leadership, teambuilding, problem solving and communication skills
  • Computer knowledge and skills including Microsoft Office products and file management
  • Must be able to meet physical demands of position including standing, bending, twisting, repetitive motion, and lifting between 10-40lbs regularly
  • A current Food Worker Card from the Washington State Department of Health is required
  • If hired into this role, a Certified Food Protection Manager certification (for example ServSafe) is required (paid for by PCC)
  • If hired into this role, a CPR/First Aid Certification is required (paid for by PCC)
  • Must be at least 18 years of age

Responsibilities

  • Models and provides excellent, professional customer service
  • Oversees and manages grocery department operations, including scheduling, ordering, productivity, budgeting, inventory, gross profit, and reporting
  • Trains, supervises, and evaluates all grocery department staff
  • Merchandises grocery department according to merchandiser guidelines, including display building, price changing, and signage
  • Is responsible for long and short-term department planning
  • Protects the health and safety of all department members and ensures department sanitation, cleanliness, and safety standards are met
  • Participates as a member of the store operating committee
  • Demonstrates a creative, solution oriented approach to problem solving and change
  • Ensures department sanitation, cleanliness and safety standards are met
