About The Position
As a Grocery Clerk, you are the final touchpoint of the shopping trip and a true ambassador for Piggly Wiggly. We are looking for friendly, approachable, and active individuals who take pride in providing legendary service. Whether you're carefully bagging a guest's groceries or helping them load their car, your role is to ensure every customer leaves our store feeling valued and supported.
Requirements
- Enthusiastic Service: A naturally friendly and helpful personality-you enjoy interacting with people and making their day better.
- Attention to Detail: The ability to think quickly on your feet to pack bags perfectly and manage store cleanliness.
- Physical Stamina: Comfort with being on your feet, lifting grocery bags, and working outdoors in various weather conditions to retrieve carts.
- Team Mindset: A "can-do" attitude and the willingness to jump in wherever the store needs help most.
Responsibilities
- Expert Bagging: Use your attention to detail to pack groceries efficiently, ensuring items are organized and protected (no crushed bread or ripped bags!).
- Guest Assistance: Greet every customer with a smile and offer "carry-out" service to help guests transport their groceries safely to their vehicles.
- Store Maintenance: Keep our shopping environment safe and sparkling by sweeping, mopping, and addressing spills promptly.
- Cart Management: Regularly retrieve shopping carts from the parking lot to ensure they are available and ready for the next guest.
- Safety First: Assist the management team in identifying and resolving any hazards to keep the store safe for everyone.
