About The Position

The Grocery Associate models and promotes Sendik’s culture by providing best-in-class service to guests. The role is responsible for rotating, stocking, and facing the Grocery Department, and ensuring products are high quality and accurately priced. The associate also supports department and store tasks such as cleaning, maintaining back stock, unloading deliveries, and gathering grocery carts and baskets. The position operates under the general supervision of the Grocery Manager.

Responsibilities

Serve customers in the Grocery Department by greeting, engaging, delighting, and thanking guests.
Help customers select products, answer questions, and offer suggestions.
Stock, rotate, and face Grocery Department aisles.
Clean shelving units and keep them free from dust.
Maintain and work back stock items.
Assist with unloading deliveries and gathering items to be stocked.
Assist with general store cleaning and gather grocery carts and baskets as needed.
Operate, maintain, and clean grocery equipment, including u-boats, flat carts, and pallet jacks.
Assist with training and mentoring new Grocery Department associates.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following safety and sanitation regulations and procedures.
Perform other Grocery Department duties as needed.
