About The Position

The Grocery Associate creates an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service and helps maintain a safe, clean environment that encourages customers to return. The associate assists the department manager in achieving sales and profit goals and monitors established quality assurance standards. The role supports the Customer 1st strategy and demonstrates the company’s core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.

Requirements

Responsibilities

• Promote trust and respect among associates and display a positive attitude.
• Help customers feel welcome and appreciated by answering questions about products sold in the department and throughout the store.
• Maintain knowledge of department products, answer questions, and make product suggestions.
• Offer product samples and inform customers about specials.
• Provide customers with fresh products they have ordered and recommend items that meet their needs.
• Check product quality and freshness, review sell-by dates, and take appropriate action.
• Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
• Report product ordering or shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
• Stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special advertisements.
• Follow food safety regulations and guidelines; maintain appropriate case and cooler temperatures and temperature logs.
• Reinforce safety programs by following procedures, identifying unsafe conditions, inspecting equipment, notifying management about items needing repair, and reporting customer or employee accidents.
• Report safety risks or issues and illegal activity, including robbery, theft, or fraud.
• Perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
