About The Position

This is an opportunity to work as an Intern at RBC within the Enterprise Model Risk Management (EMRM) team. The role involves supporting the review, testing, and assessment of models. This is a 4-month Fall 2026 Student placement, starting in September 2026 and ending in December 2026. To be eligible, candidates must either be returning to school after the work term or require the full 4-month work term as a mandatory component for graduation. The successful candidate will be required to be located within Ontario for the duration of the work term, with specific virtual, hybrid, and in-office arrangements to be discussed with the Hiring Manager.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled at a Canadian post-secondary institution
  • Excellent problem solving and proven analytical skills, with a high degree of initiative
  • Strong programming skills in one or more languages (e.g., Python, R, etc.)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Ability to work collaboratively to achieve team goals

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge and understanding of financial services industry (Banking, Insurance)
  • Knowledge and understanding of model risk and assessment process
  • Ability to learn and absorb new concepts (in business and in systems) quickly and apply new knowledge
  • Experience working on model development

Responsibilities

  • Work as part of an agile team responsible for validating models and assessing their risks
  • Support the challenge of a model’s design, methodology and performance with the model owners and users
  • Analyze, deliver, and implement projects and activities
  • Be an active contributor to not only your individual team, but to other areas of EMRM
  • Seek to improve ways to do a model’s assessment
