The Grinding Operator has the ability to run multiple machines effectively and efficiently on a continuous basis. This role involves identifying problems during production runs, positioning work pieces, and inspecting parts daily using various inspection equipment. The operator performs required operations on Grinder machines, including loading and unloading parts, part inspection, and wheel preparation and changing. They are responsible for cleaning and performing preventive maintenance and minor adjustments on assigned equipment. Additionally, the operator prepares various logs and records to document machine operation and daily production, entering required data into the computer. They move/transport parts to appropriate locations, maintain safe, clean, and orderly work areas, and review various records and reports such as travelers, shift reports, SOPs, and safety sheets. The role also includes preparing labor sheets and non-conformance forms, interacting with supervisors, co-workers, and other shop personnel, and operating grinders, micrometers, gauges, various power tools, and computers. Related duties as required are also part of the function.
