About The Position

The Grinding Operator sets up and operates grinding machines to manufacture parts that meet the dimensional specifications in mechanical engineering drawings. The role includes measuring, inspecting, and loading and unloading parts; making dimensional adjustments as instructed; and completing quality control documentation. The operator works with the department to ensure parts meet company standards and follows applicable inspection instructions, good manufacturing practices, standard operating procedures, and safety regulations.

The position also requires adherence to company conduct and compliance policies, completion of introductory and annual compliance training, and professional, ethical interactions with employees, customers, suppliers, and other third parties. Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong manual dexterity and mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to perform visual inspection of small parts using a microscope, with strong attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Self-starter.
• Advanced critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.

Nice To Haves

• Intermediate math skills in geometric and trigonometric formulas.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate grinding machines.
• Measure and inspect parts, and load and unload them from the grinding machine.
• Implement dimensional adjustments (offsets) as needed and as instructed.
• Complete quality control documentation and inspection sheets accurately.
• Inspect products according to verbal and written instructions, including part drawings, travelers, work instructions, and process specifications.
• Follow Good Manufacturing Practices, inspection techniques, standard operating procedures, and safety regulations.
• Adhere to company conduct policies and applicable compliance requirements, and complete introductory and annual training.
• Represent the company professionally and uphold ethical and socially responsible conduct in interactions with employees, customers, suppliers, and other third parties.
