About The Position

Operates bench grinders, hand tools and other equipment to finish and protect parts. This role involves operating grinding equipment and wheelabrator to finish parts, applying oils and other protective coatings, and operating a forklift to move pallets or containers of parts. The position also requires checking grinding equipment for usability and safe operation, and maintaining a clean and orderly work area. Adherence to company safety and security guidelines, as well as punctuality and attendance, are essential functions of this job.

Requirements

• Previous experience
• Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
• Ability to perform climbing into and out of equipment.
• Ability to reach in all directions, handle and manipulate objects and materials.
• Ability to coordinate the movements of eyes, hands, fingers and feet to operate tools and equipment.
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds from ground level, waist level, and/or overhead.
• Ability to carry objects, tools, equipment, etc.
• Ability to stand; sit; walk; push; pull; bend; kneel; crouch/squat; crawl.
• Ability to see with or without correction.
• Ability to hear with or without correction.
• Ability to sit while performing the duties of this job (approx. 70%) walk (30%) stand (0%).
• Ability to lift or move materials (5% of workday).
• Ability to follow set procedures and standards.
• Ability to apply basic mathematical skills.
