About The Position

The Grinder / TimeSaver Machine Operator is responsible for grinding, sanding, deburring, and finishing metal parts to meet quality specifications. The role operates manual grinding equipment and TimeSaver finishing machines to remove burrs, improve surface finishes, and prepare parts for welding, painting, or final assembly. The operator is expected to maintain quality standards, productivity goals, and a safe work environment. Spray-painting tasks make up 20% of the work.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of 4 years of previous manufacturing experience is preferred.
At least 2 years of prior experience using hand grinders, sanders, and finishing tools.
Ability to read and understand work instructions and engineering drawings.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

Operate TimeSaver sanding and finishing equipment.
Perform grinding, deburring, and edge-breaking operations using hand grinders and other finishing tools.
Inspect parts for defects, burrs, sharp edges, and required surface finishes.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, work orders, and manufacturing specifications.
Verify dimensions using measuring tools such as calipers, scales, and gauges.
Safely load and unload materials from finishing equipment.
Adjust machine settings to achieve required surface finishes and part specifications.
Monitor machine performance and report equipment issues to supervision or maintenance.
Follow safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Keep work areas clean and organized in accordance with 5S and housekeeping standards.
Assist with material movement and support other manufacturing operations as needed.
Perform spray-painting tasks, which comprise 20% of the work.
Perform other duties as assigned.
