About The Position

Exline, Inc. is seeking a Grinder/Machinist to join our skilled Repair and Manufacturing team in Salina, Kansas. This hands-on position involves operating manual lathes, mills, and grinding machines to repair and manufacture precision metal components. The ideal candidate will have 1–2 years of experience with manual machining, forklift experience, and some assembly experience. We’re looking for someone who takes pride in quality workmanship, has a positive attitude, and is willing to work overtime as needed to meet production goals.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required
• 1–2 years of experience operating manual lathes and mills required
• Forklift experience required
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and safety instructions
• Excellent attendance, reliability, and work ethic
• Positive attitude and willingness to be flexible with work assignments
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Willingness to work overtime as needed to meet production deadlines
• Regular standing, walking, bending, and lifting (up to 50 lbs frequently; 100 lbs with assistance)
• Exposure to shop environments with moving machinery, noise, and airborne particles
• Must wear required PPE, including safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, and hearing protection
• Visual acuity requirements include close focus and depth perception

Nice To Haves

• Experience with grinding and precision machining preferred
• Prior experience in a manufacturing or repair shop environment preferred

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate manual lathes, mills, and grinders to machine or repair parts to specifications
• Perform precision and non-precision grinding, following blueprints, drawings, and work travelers
• Use precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, bore gauges, etc.) to ensure accuracy within tolerances
• Assemble components and subassemblies per shop standards
• Safely operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and hoists to move materials and parts
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of machines and tools
• Accurately record time and job data in the timekeeping system
• Work safely and follow all company procedures and PPE requirements
• Communicate with supervisors and team members to ensure workflow efficiency
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
• Perform other duties as assigned to support production needs
