About The Position

Creative Dining Services at the University Of Saint Francis is looking for a part-time Grill Cook. The Grill Cook is responsible for ensuring that high-quality, properly seasoned, nutritious food is being provided throughout the operation. Bring your grill skills to our campus kitchen! One day you are nailing the ultimate cheeseburger, and the next you are searing fiery street-food skewers from across the globe. You bring the passion. Come build your culinary future with us! We need a dedicated Grill Cook who will stay focused and present at the grill station during all shifts. You will manage our busy grill line, cook orders to exact standards, and keep your station running smoothly without wandering off during peak hours. Typical schedule is Fridays 2PM-8PM & Saturdays 10:30AM-8PM, with possibility of working more shifts!

Responsibilities

Time food production such that all food is ready at the time of service
Prepare food items according to established recipes and menus in a manner in which preserves food freshness, quality and appeal
Utilize batch cooking techniques to avoid over or under production
Store food items according to established standards of practice; utilize proper labeling and dating
Hold prepared food items at appropriate temperatures (below 40° if cold, above 135° if hot)
Maintain production records (food usage, overages, shortages, customer counts, etc.)
Follow established work rules and regulations; ready for work in the kitchen, in uniform, at the scheduled time
Putting away/Pulling stock as needed
Work well with other kitchen staff during busy times
Keep the grill area, equipment, and counters clean.
