About The Position
We are looking for a reliable and customer-focused Grill Cook to join our Nutrition Services team. In this role, you’ll prepare and serve fresh, made-to-order food while maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. You’ll play an important part in delivering excellent service and supporting Meritus Health’s commitment to teamwork, integrity, and innovation.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous food service or customer service experience preferred
- ServSafe Certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Basic math skills for measuring and portioning ingredients
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Lift and carry up to 50 lbs as needed
- Work in a fast-paced environment with exposure to heat and food service equipment
Responsibilities
- Prepare grill and menu items according to customer selections and quality standards
- Provide friendly, timely customer service—smiles encouraged!
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas, floors, and equipment
- Practice proper food handling, storage, labeling, and FIFO procedures
- Follow HACCP guidelines and comply with all health and safety regulations
- Control food costs through proper portioning and minimizing waste
