About The Position

This role sits at the intersection of grid code compliance, control system engineering, and technical sales support for a global renewable energy business delivering grid integration and plant control solutions. You'll review customer electrical studies, interpret emerging grid codes, and directly influence how power plant controllers and yaw backup systems are designed for compliance. You will represent the business in grid code working groups and industry forums, engage directly with System Operators on system integration, and help global product teams build functionality that meets tomorrow's regulatory requirements. You'll own technical decisions across the full project lifecycle, from initial contract review through commissioning support.

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on power or control systems.
  • At least 7 years of experience in electrical power, power systems, or control systems engineering.
  • Strong background solving complex power and control system problems.
  • Knowledge of grid integration, utility interconnection requirements, and wind power plant controls.
  • Ability to interpret grid codes and assess plant designs and electrical studies for compliance.
  • Familiarity with NERC reliability standards and IEC, IEEE, and UL standards.
  • Strong customer-facing and technical presentation skills.
  • Comfortable working across cultures, functions, and time zones in a global organization.
  • Highly organized and self-motivated, able to manage competing deadlines with limited supervision.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.

  • Developing grid compliance test plans and supporting testing and commissioning in the field.
  • Reviewing North American wind power plant designs for grid code compliance and recommending performance improvements.
  • Mentoring other engineers and representing the company externally with utilities, System Operators, and industry committees.
  • Tracking emerging grid codes and market requirements across North America, feeding that intelligence back to global product teams, and translating it into site-specific turbine and controller settings for grid connection approvals.
  • Presenting technical solutions to customers.
  • Supporting Technical Bid Engineers on value engineering.
  • Training sales teams on product capabilities.
