About The Position

Reporting to the Marketing Manager, the LFG (Lights, Fun & Games) Greeter is responsible for creating a high-energy, hospitality-driven gaming floor experience through guest interaction, promotional engagement, and operation of the Boogie Bus mobile activation unit. This position serves as a front-line ambassador of the JACK brand, delivering memorable guest moments by celebrating jackpots, guest milestones, promotional activations, and signature events. The LFG Greeter is responsible for operating and maneuvering the Boogie Bus throughout the gaming floor, executing live activations with music, lighting, and announcements, and creating spontaneous, high-touch interactions that enhance the overall guest experience. This role is critical in supporting JACK Thistledown Racino’s hospitality-focused strategy by transforming routine guest interactions into engaging, shareable, and memorable moments.

Requirements

  • Literate and fluent in English. Must be able to converse in English with guests and provide clear direction.
  • Must have the proven ability to provide courteous, friendly and efficient service.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with an energetic, engaging personality.
  • Ability to maintain composure and excellent guest relations under all circumstances.
  • Must be able to work any day of the week and any shift including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Ability to operate audio/visual equipment and adapt quickly to new technology.
  • Strong teamwork skills and ability to collaborate across departments.
  • Ability to take direction from multiple Leads/Supervisors/Managers.
  • Maintain upbeat and positive attitude across multiple tasks and environments.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Must be able to quickly maneuver throughout the gaming floor.
  • Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues.
  • Must be able to push, pull, and maneuver mobile equipment safely.
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Must be able to obtain an Ohio Lottery Commission license.

Nice To Haves

  • A minimum of one-year customer service experience in a position with direct guest contact preferred.
  • Experience in promotions, entertainment, hospitality, or event activation is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provides excellent guest service.
  • Creates a fun-filled, high-energy environment where hospitality and guest recognition are paramount.
  • Operates and navigates the Boogie Bus safely throughout the gaming floor, ensuring adherence to all safety and operational guidelines
  • Executes gaming floor activations including: Jackpot celebrations, Guest milestones (birthdays, anniversaries, tier advancements), Promotional events and drawings, Signature property events
  • Utilizes music, lighting, microphone announcements, and visual effects to create engaging and memorable guest experiences.
  • Engages directly with guests during activations, ensuring they feel recognized, celebrated, and valued.
  • Presents large format “big check” props and assists with guest photo opportunities.
  • Supports Facebook and Instagram live activations by assisting with on-floor content capture and guest engagement.
  • Collaborates with Marketing, Player Development, Slots, and Security to ensure seamless activation execution.
  • Maintains awareness of surroundings to ensure safe movement of the Boogie Bus and prevent congestion or disruption.
  • Ensures all equipment (sound, lighting, livestream tools) is functioning properly prior to and during activations.
  • Effectively and enthusiastically communicates current promotions, events, and loyalty program benefits to guests.
  • Knowledgeable of entire property to accurately assist guests.
  • Well versed on all promotions and events.
  • Assists with the execution of all property promotions and special events, as needed.
  • Maintains integrity and confidentiality of all customer data.
  • Communicates all relevant information to co-workers and management to maintain consistency and avoid potential problems.
  • Constantly seeks ways to improve guest engagement, reduce friction, and enhance overall experience.
  • Acts as a role model to other employees and always presents oneself as a credit to Thistledown and encourages others to do the same.
  • Adheres to all regulatory, company and department policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned by the supervisory/management team.
