About The Position

The Greeter-Security Monitor welcomes and assists patients, their families, and visitors entering the health center. Responds to general questions and inquiries, and forwards non-routine requests to appropriate staff for handling. Assists with general administrative tasks, such as sorting health center directory, departmental mail, delivery logs, and visitation logs. Determines purpose of visit and directs patients/clients/visitors to the appropriate person or department(s). This role works closely with other health center roles to ensure satisfactory patient service, supports patient flow, and minimizes lobby wait times. The Greeter Security will also assist patients through the self-check-in process, answer concerns, and work with the Practice Manager to resolve inquiries. They will communicate patient status observations to the Practice Manager and/or nurse-in-charge, and help patients in distress by responding to emergencies. Protecting patient rights through maintaining confidentiality of medical, personal, and financial information is crucial. The role involves maintaining operations by following policies and procedures, reporting needed changes, and contributing to team effort. The Greeter Security will promote a positive and cooperative work environment by communicating problems and workflow issues with the Practice Manager and handling conflict appropriately.

Requirements

  • Ability to verbally communicate effectively with others, with or without the use of an interpreter.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing using the English language, with or without the use of auxiliary aids or services.
  • Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures
  • Ability to establish and effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, coworkers and the public
  • Ability to handle various special projects on an ongoing basis while addressing daily needs for the department.
  • Ability to complete projects with minimal directions/instructions.
  • Maintain patient and family confidentially.
  • Ability to review, understand, and apply concepts presented in training programs, conferences, and/or professional literature.
  • PC proficiency.
  • Must be able to respect the culture, values and opinions of others.
  • Outstanding customer service skills and the ability to interact and work with diverse populations.
  • Clear understanding that FoundCare provides information on educating individuals on safer sex practices which would include but not be limited to, exposure to explicit language, explicit printed material, and descriptions of explicit sexual activities as part of the agency’s mission in the prevention and transmission of HIV disease.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Valid Class “D” Security Officer License required.
  • Possess 1-2 years of office/clerical experience.
  • Flexible schedule allowing for evenings.

Responsibilities
