About The Position

Mill Creek Country Club in Mill Creek, WA is excited to announce the exceptional career opportunity of a part-time Greenskeeper. We are seeking a driven individual who is eager to learn, contribute, and grow within a fast-paced hospitality-focused property organization. As part of Troon, you will contribute to a global leader in golf and community management. This is a seasonal position with an expected duration of six months or less.

Requirements

  • Some High School.
  • Six months of experience in golf course grounds maintenance or greenkeeping is preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of golf course operations.
  • Knowledge of irrigation systems.
  • Knowledge of and ability to perform required role in a timely manner.
  • Cooperate with and respect fellow employees.
  • Presents a professional image at all times.
  • Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions.
  • Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals.
  • Periodically exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; extreme cold; extreme heat; risk of electrical shock; and vibration.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
  • Able to meet and perform the physical requirements and to work effectively in an environment, which is typical of this position.
  • Frequent lifting, bending, climbing, stooping and pulling.
  • May need to use some protective equipment, such as a respirator, gloves, earplugs, eye guards/visors, boots.

Nice To Haves

  • Likes to work outside early in the mornings, has a strong work ethic with good attention to detail and an eagerness to learn new things.
  • Knowledge of the game of Golf is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine manual labor involved in and/or related to golf course maintenance.
  • Perform semi-skilled grounds construction and maintenance work.
  • Operate small hand-powered equipment and occasionally perform work involving larger equipment/machines (tractors, fairway units, triplex mowers, walking mowers, etc.).
  • Perform basic labor on the golf course.
  • Maintain landscape beds around clubhouse and golf course grounds.
  • Rake and blow leaves, walkways, parking lots, cart storage areas, driveways, etc.
  • Mow greens and fairways by operating walk-behind and riding turf equipment.
  • Prepare and lay sod.
  • Fill divots and repair ball marks.
  • Basic operation of utility vehicles, sod cutters, weed-eaters, hand-held blowers, small equipment/etc.
  • Rake and edge bunkers and periodically fill with sand.
  • Load and unload materials.
  • Repair and maintain driving range tees.
  • Clean any/all equipment used on the golf course grounds.
  • Dig holes and trenches to maintain or construct irrigation and drainage lines.
  • Install pipe and backfill excavations.
  • Empty garbage cans.
  • Attend staff meetings.
  • Perform manual watering on the golf course.
  • Perform other appropriate tasks as assigned by immediate supervisor.
