About The Position

This position is responsible for performing daily maintenance tasks on the golf course, including mowing greens, tees, fairways, and roughs. The role also involves raking and maintaining bunkers, repairing divots, and assisting with course setup. Additionally, the Greenskeeper will support irrigation system maintenance, apply various turf materials, and operate turf maintenance equipment safely. Monitoring turf health and reporting any issues are key responsibilities. During winter months, the role includes snow removal and ice mitigation on roadways, parking lots, sidewalks, and other areas. Landscaping duties such as mowing, trimming, pruning, planting, and mulching are also part of the job. The Greenskeeper will perform daily inspections and cleaning of equipment, report malfunctions, adhere to safety protocols, and maintain an organized work environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Ability to safely operate mowers, tractors, and small power tools.
  • Willingness to work early mornings, weekends, holidays, and during inclement weather.
  • Physical ability to perform outdoor manual labor, including lifting up to 50 lbs., bending, and standing for extended periods.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in golf course maintenance, landscaping, or groundskeeping preferred but not required—training provided.
  • Experience operating turf equipment or snow removal machinery a plus.
  • Ability to obtain a pesticide applicator’s license preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily maintenance tasks such as mowing greens, tees, fairways, and roughs.
  • Rake and maintain bunkers, repair divots, and assist with course setup (e.g., changing cups, tee markers, and flagsticks).
  • Assist in irrigation system maintenance, including watering, adjustments, and minor repairs.
  • Apply topdressing, fertilizers, and other materials as directed by the Superintendent.
  • Operate and maintain a variety of turf maintenance equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Monitor turf health and report issues such as disease, pest activity, or irrigation problems.
  • Perform snow removal and ice mitigation during winter months on roadways, parking lots, sidewalks, walkways, doorways, and steps.
  • Operate snow removal equipment such as plows, snow blowers, and utility vehicles equipped for winter work.
  • Apply sand, salt, or other materials for traction and safety.
  • Assist with property-wide landscaping duties, including mowing, trimming, pruning, planting, and mulching.
  • Maintain landscaped areas to ensure a neat and well-groomed appearance.
  • Support special projects or seasonal enhancements as assigned by the Superintendent.
  • Perform daily inspection and cleaning of equipment after use.
  • Report equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs promptly.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment in the maintenance facility and on the course.
