About The Position

DHT Group is hiring four experienced Gravel Train / Doubles Drivers for our Newport, Michigan operation. This is a local, home-daily position paying $25–$28 per hour, depending on qualifications, for experienced drivers who know gravel trains and take pride in operating safely, professionally, and efficiently. Military experience is strongly encouraged, as DHT values the leadership, accountability, discipline, and mission-focused experience veterans bring to the workplace. Experience in motor transport, logistics, heavy equipment, combat engineering, transportation, or fuel operations can translate well to a career with DHT.

Requirements

• Valid CDL-A
• T endorsement
• Valid medical card
• Acceptable driving record
• At least 1 year of verifiable CDL-A experience
• At least 6 months of gravel train experience
• Ability to lift 25 lbs.
• Ability to meet DOT physical and drug/alcohol screening requirements

Nice To Haves

• 6+ months of dump experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Safely operate gravel train / doubles equipment
• Complete pre-trip, enroute, and post-trip inspections
• Couple and uncouple trailers and connect air/electrical lines
• Monitor load weight and distribution
• Maintain required DOT logs and documentation
• Communicate professionally with dispatch, customers, and coworkers
• Comply with weigh-station requirements
• Maintain DHT safety and compliance standards
