About The Position

At CenterPoint, the Graphics Technician executes the end-to-end preparation and coordination of graphic materials for assigned projects, with a primary focus on pre-production, file setup, and client ready deliverables. This person manages multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring all files are production ready, and collaborates closely with the Graphics Manager, Account Teams, Project Managers, external vendors, and clients.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent or related experience is preferred.
  • "Sign Making" experience is required.
  • Proven experience with vinyl, laminating, mounting and vinyl application is required.
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign & Photoshop) is required.
  • Knowledge of printing processes and RIP software required.
  • Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and collaborate with many different personalities and departments.
  • Possess strong problem solving and critical thinking skills, specifically in a fast paced and high pressure environment.
  • Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. The ability to follow through and meet deadlines is a must.
  • Demonstrate ability to quickly learn and apply that knowledge to accurately follow step by step procedures.
  • Possess basic technical skills, including proficiency with computers and internal software/systems.

Responsibilities

  • Execute tasks that are assigned by the Graphics Manager with an emphasis on efficiency, quality and accuracy.
  • Manage multiple projects at once and adhere to tight deadlines.
  • Manage administrative responsibilities in NetSuite which include completing Tasks, providing timely status updates on projects, and accurately tracking time.
  • Efficiently and accurately complete Pre-Production and vendor related tasks which include but are not limited to, creating template files for clients, creating Graphics Element Lists (GELs), reviewing client supplied files and assuring they are production ready, creating and sending final layouts/proofs, and working directly with clients for approvals.
  • Maintain consistent and organized job folder structures by adhering to established internal processes.
  • Coordinate with vendors to ensure deliverables are completed on schedule and aligned with project requirements.
  • Follow internal Purchase Order (PO) process to assure external vendors receive accurate information for billing.
  • Review proofs from external vendors and provide final approval, maintaining accountability for accuracy and quality.
  • Efficiently and accurately complete Production related tasks which include but are not limited to, working with various substrates, application of velcro or tape, test fitting graphics, trimming, laminating, applying Vinyl graphics, assembly of metal frames (BeMatrix, EZ wall, etc), and weeding & Pre-masking vinyl.
  • Maintain an organized and clean work environment to reduce the risk of misplaced or damaged materials.
  • Act as the final quality control checkpoint for graphic items and collaborate with Account Teams and Project Managers to resolve any concerns.
  • Work independently with minimal oversight, demonstrating ownership of assigned projects and responsibilities.
