NewsNation - Graphics Operator - Part-time
About The Position
NewsNation is seeking a part-time Graphics Operator for its national newscasts. The operator prepares and switches XPression elements during live and prerecorded programming, following the Director’s commands and reacting quickly and accurately to ensure broadcast output meets quality standards. The work takes place in a fast-paced, highly produced control room using Ross XPression software. The operator is expected to contribute creative ideas, communicate and document effectively with the team, and perform other duties assigned by network leadership. Weekend mornings are required, though the operator may also be called in for other shifts. Membership in IBEW is required.
Requirements
- Five or more years of experience in professional live television broadcast operations.
- Detail-oriented and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Working knowledge of common business software, particularly Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe InDesign.
- Familiarity with media asset management and photo sites such as Getty Images.
- Strong problem-solving and quick-thinking skills to resolve issues and work around problems during live news.
- Self-sufficient, with a “press-on-regardless” attitude.
- Able to work well in a collaborative team environment.
- Membership in IBEW is required.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in routing, CGs, video playback, robotic camera operation, graphic design, FTP, or building switcher effects.
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications or a related field.
Responsibilities
