About The Position

The Graphic Production Supervisor leads the day-to-day operations of the Graphics Department, including production planning, workflow coordination, team supervision, quality control, material and equipment readiness, and on-time completion of graphic deliverables. This position works closely with the Graphics Director and cross-functional partners to ensure graphic production is completed safely, accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications and ECI standards.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or technical training in graphic production, visual communications, printing, manufacturing, or related area, and at least three (3) years of related graphics, sign, exhibit, or wide-format print production experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous experience leading, coordinating, or supervising production employees is required.
  • Working knowledge of graphic, sign, exhibit, or wide-format print production processes, materials, file preparation, color output, finishing methods, and quality-control practices.
  • Working knowledge of production equipment such as large-format printers, laminators, cutters, plotters, or comparable graphics-finishing equipment, as applicable to ECI’s operation.
  • Ability to read and interpret work orders, layouts, dimensions, production notes, and project specifications.
  • Ability to plan production work, assign resources, organize competing priorities, and respond effectively to schedule changes.
  • Ability to identify production problems, evaluate options, implement solutions within established authority, and escalate concerns appropriately.
  • Proficiency with standard business applications and experience using graphics production, workflow, inventory, or ERP systems.
  • Effective leadership, coaching, communication, organizational, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Ability to perform practical production math, including measurements, fractions, decimals, quantities, material usage, and basic cost calculations.

  • Working knowledge of relevant Adobe Creative Cloud applications is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises daily graphics production activities and communicates work priorities, schedule requirements, quality expectations, and project-specific instructions to the graphic production team.
  • Ensures production schedules are met based on work orders and direction from the Graphics Director.
  • Understands all aspects of each project and communicates relevant project details to the production team to support accurate and timely completion.
  • Reviews and ensures accurate daily time entry for graphics production team.
  • Serves as a primary point of contact for the Graphics Director, helps communicate priorities to the production team, and ensures proper job procedures are followed on each project.
  • Monitors work in progress, proactively identifies schedule or production risks, adjusts workflow within established authority, and escalates significant concerns to the Graphics Director.
  • Coordinates with Design, Project Management, Production, Purchasing, and other departments to align graphics production with overall project requirements and schedules.
  • Coordinates the ordering and scheduling of materials from vendors and internal departments to support timely and efficient production.
  • Oversees graphic-material inventory, including accurate records, appropriate stock levels, material storage, and availability for scheduled work.
  • Monitors project costs, labor, material usage, rework, waste, downtime, schedule performance, and other department measures established by the Graphics Director.
  • Assists with graphic production as needed to help ensure jobs meet quality expectations and delivery schedules.
  • Ensures proper graphic numbering, archiving, and organization for each job, and assists with maintaining accurate dimensions and production notes on final graphic layouts.
  • Maintains current knowledge of graphic production techniques, materials, equipment, software, and industry practice through appropriate training, seminars, classes, and hands-on learning.
  • Models ECI’s values and promotes a professional, respectful, collaborative, quality-focused, and customer-focused work environment.
  • Conducts graphic production evaluations in conjunction with the Graphics Director and provides input to support employee development, performance feedback, and departmental effectiveness.
  • Identifies and recommends improvements to workflow, procedures, material use, equipment utilization, quality, and departmental efficiency.
  • Coordinates routine preventive maintenance, service, repair, and troubleshooting for graphics production and finishing equipment.
  • Promotes and enforces safe work practices, appropriate personal protective equipment, safe chemical and material handling, and proper operation of production equipment.
  • Performs all other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
