About The Position

Fern is at the top of the trade show and expo service industry. Our operation spans more than 200 cities from coast to coast. We are looking for a Print Production Operator who will be responsible for producing printed graphics and ensuring the highest dedication to quality. Responsibilities include but are not limited to preflighting, prepress, printing, quality control and packaging for shipment. You will report directly to the KC Graphics Production Manager. Position does require being on-site full time. Hours are Mon-Fri 7:30am-4pm, with the ability to work overtime when required. Pay rate is $20-23/hr.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years’ experience in large format digital printing and signage production.
  • Must be highly organized, detail oriented, with a sense of urgency and conscious of quality standards.
  • Must handle multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Must be comfortable working in a culture/environment that is high pressure, fast-paced, and often offers short execution times.
  • Proficient in sign finishing and detailing, including lamination, routing and cutting. Experience with a Kongsberg cutting table is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and organization skills.
  • Skilled in the Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Skilled in the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiar with modern RIP software; knowledge of Onyx is a plus.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. fairly regularly.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with a Kongsberg cutting table is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Onyx is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Update ticket tracking in our internal task system, as well as remaining in contact with other department leads regarding projects/deadlines, and any issues requiring attention.
  • Preflight and review graphic files to ensure no issues in production.
  • Prepare, produce and pack graphics for distribution throughout the country.
  • Prepare and route panels for cutting on the die cutter.
  • Prepare and process RIP tasks for large format and other printers.
  • Color matching and adjustments to ensure color accuracy during production run.
  • Assist in general production work as necessary.
  • Report concerns in graphic production to the Branch Graphic Manager.
