About The Position

The Graphic Designer is responsible for developing creative materials for Vaniam Group companies and clients. This can include meeting materials, PowerPoint slide decks, data posters, manuscript artwork/figures, and other projects. The designer will have knowledge in how to prepare files for print or digital submissions and will be able to work independently with oversight and creative direction from their direct supervisor.

Requirements

  • Minimum: Undergraduate degree in Fine Arts or related field or equivalent graphic design experience required.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in the design industry.
  • Portfolio samples that demonstrate a thorough understanding of typography, color theory, layout, and graphics fundamentals.
  • Working knowledge of brand development and creative process.
  • Meticulous management and execution of detailed work, commitment to self-reviewing work for accuracy. Ability to identify high-impact graphic enhancement opportunities that goes beyond just what was asked for, balanced with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Proficient skill level in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office Products.
  • Ability to prioritize and plan personal work activities, use time efficiently, and communicate with manager when projects may be at risk for delay.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organization, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills including the ability to analyze information skillfully, develop alternative solutions, and work well in group problem-solving solutions.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in pharma/ biotech, scientific communications or publications is preferred.
  • Commercial (HCP/DTC) experience preferred.
  • Experiencing illustrating data graphs, tables, and data-heavy infographics.
  • Background and/or prior interest in health sciences.
  • Basic Video Editing Skills: Adobe Premiere for editing short/long format videos and social media clips.
  • Moderate skill in creating simple animated graphics in Adobe After Effects, including lower thirds, title cards, and simple animated text-on-screen).
  • More robust motion graphics skills and/or music editing skills a bonus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop designs and templates for client projects via PowerPoint, InDesign, Illustrator, Figma, and Photoshop, or other design software.
  • Format and enhance the creative level of client deliverables.
  • Create figures for projects while adhering to client and journal/congress requirements.
  • Implement edits as requested by Client Solutions, Scientific Communications, or Editorial departments.
  • Prepare files for print or digital submission, understanding various requirements for submissions.
  • Stay current with the latest trends and technology.
  • Other duties may be assigned to help drive deliverables within this role.
