About The Position

The Contingent is a 501(c)(3) venture nonprofit that sparks and supports innovative initiatives designed to empower leaders and mobilize communities for the common good. The Graphic Design Contractor will provide graphic design services to The Contingent on an as-needed, project-by-project basis. Work will include event collateral, such as themed based save the date, invitations, signage and design elements for digital artifacts. Each assignment must be authorized in writing before work begins.

Requirements

  • Provide graphic design services on an as-needed, project-by-project basis.
  • Deliver design assets and collateral according to agreed-upon project timelines and within the approved budget.
  • Provide final deliverables in requested formats, including editable source files and print-ready or digital-ready files.
  • Ensure designs align with The Contingent's brand standards, event objectives, and intended audience.
  • Proactively communicate project status, timelines, and any potential delays or concerns.
  • Seek feedback and clarification as needed to ensure the final product meets project expectations.
  • Develop user-friendly, editable general design templates suitable for future use.
  • Maintain organized project files and transfer all final files to The Contingent at the conclusion of each project.
  • Collaborate effectively with The Contingent staff, vendors, and event partners as needed.
  • Control the manner and means of performing the Services.
  • Provide progress reports as requested by The Contingent.
  • Update general availability to Rena Whittaker, Sr. Director of Generosity & Investment and update for any significant changes.
  • Communicate any periods of unavailability to Rena Whittaker, Sr. Director of Generosity & Investment in advance (or as soon as possible if unplanned).
  • Acknowledge that Contractor is customarily engaged in an independently established business, maintains a separate business location, and performs all or most of the services away from The Contingent’s office.
  • Do not use or disclose The Contingent’s Confidential Information.

Responsibilities

  • Create event collateral: save-the-dates, invitations, page headers for online registration pages.
  • Design event wayfinding: promotional graphics, program design and layout, signage design, and presentation (slide deck) template.
  • Develop impact reports: page layout, typography, charts or simple infographics based on provided data and provide final or print ready files.
  • Create general design templates for recurring events for future use.
