About The Position

College Hill is seeking a part-time merchandise graphic designer to join their team. This role can be fully remote for candidates based in Washington, Idaho, or Wisconsin, or based at their Pullman HQ. The position starts at approximately 10 hours per week, with potential to increase to 20-25 hours based on performance and business needs. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, with consistent communication with the department. The ideal candidate possesses strong design skills, can translate written information into original graphic merchandise designs, and has excellent attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple projects. The ability to design under tight deadlines and utilize creative problem-solving is highly valued. Responsibilities include creating designs for client projects, such as logo placement and detailed designs for apparel and products, but not developing company branding. The role also involves creating design collateral for internal marketing and acting as a liaison between clients, the sales team, and the marketing department. Collaboration with the design team and communication with all departments are key.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in graphic design, fine arts or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience in graphic design.

Responsibilities

  • Creating print-ready graphics for apparel and promotional products.
  • Interpreting client briefs and crafting artwork for apparel.
  • Meeting deadlines and managing time effectively.
  • Contributing ideas and staying informed about client industries and creative trends.
  • Communicating clearly with team members, other departments, vendors, and clients.
  • Managing and completing daily tasks including initial design tasks, design edits, garment and mock changes, final mock and art for production, personal projects, original design, internal marketing design, and sending files to vendors or other departments.
  • Adhering to client brand standards and licensing requirements while innovating and providing high-quality designs.
  • Creating thoughtful and original artwork within a 48-hour turnaround time.
  • Understanding print design restrictions, processes, and design requirements.
  • Maintaining a strong understanding of designing for screen-printed apparel and promotional products.
  • Developing and maintaining a working knowledge of design formats for high resolution.
