About The Position

Central Hudson Gas & Electric Corporation is offering an exciting internship opportunity for students who are interested in graphic design, video production, photography, multimedia communications, and brand storytelling. Join a team of professionals in a dynamic, rapidly evolving electric and natural gas energy provider and gain valuable, real-world experience. As a Graphic Design, Video Production & Multimedia Intern, you'll support a variety of projects that may include designing graphics, infographics, presentations, digital signage, newsletters, and marketing materials for internal and external audiences. You will also assist with video production projects, including filming, lighting, audio setup, editing, motion graphics, and post-production. Additionally, you will create visual content for employee communications, customer communications, social media, recruiting initiatives, and corporate marketing campaigns. This role involves supporting photography and videography at company events, community activities, employee recognition programs, and business initiatives. You will develop short-form and long-form video content for social media, the intranet, digital displays, and executive communications, and create animations, motion graphics, and multimedia assets that help simplify complex topics and enhance engagement. You will also support Central Hudson’s brand standards and visual identity across communication materials, assist with executive presentations, communication toolkits, annual reports, and strategic communications materials, and organize digital media libraries, photography archives, video footage, and creative assets. The intern will collaborate with departments across the organization to transform business, operational, and customer topics into compelling visual stories. Interns will work side by side with experienced communications and creative professionals who will guide them through hands-on assignments while offering insight into the utility industry. The internship program also includes networking opportunities, professional development events, and competitive compensation.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in Graphic Design, Digital Media Production, Multimedia Design, Visual Communications, Film & Video Production, Marketing, Communications, or a related field
  • Candidates must have a 3.0 GPA or higher
  • Currently be an undergraduate student working on their bachelor’s degree in their freshman, sophomore, or junior year. Graduate students working on their master’s degree will also be considered.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud applications such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro, and After Effects preferred
  • Familiarity with Canva, Microsoft PowerPoint, photography, videography, and digital content creation tools preferred
  • Strong creative, communication, organizational, and time-management skills
  • Portfolio, website, or examples of creative work preferred
