About The Position

Printing Services at Iowa State University is seeking a Prepress & Print Design Technician II (Graphic Design Assistant II) to work in a creative, fast-paced printing environment. The position combines graphic design, prepress, variable-data production, department marketing, and webstore support, including the development of dynamic product templates for online ordering. The work includes a variety of print, wide-format, mailing, and creative projects from concept through production. The role works within established workflows and guidelines, independently resolving prepress issues and collaborating with customers, customer relations staff, and production teams to ensure files are accurate, consistent, and properly prepared for downstream production. Printing Services supports Iowa State University’s academic, research, and outreach missions by providing print and design services. Its work combines prepress, production, and finishing expertise with an emphasis on accuracy, accessibility, consistency, reliable and cost-effective solutions, and prompt turnaround. The department supports emerging digital print solutions and works collaboratively with production staff, customer-facing colleagues, and clients across campus.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Two years of related experience.
Legal authorization to work in the United States on an ongoing basis without sponsorship; immigration sponsorship is not available.

Responsibilities

Perform graphic design, prepress, and variable-data production work.
