About The Position

HII Mission Technologies is seeking a Graphic Artist to join its Proposal Graphics team in Fair Lakes, Virginia. Working under general supervision, the artist creates visual content for high-visibility proposals and pursuits, turning complex concepts into clear, compelling visual stories. The work includes editorial illustrations, interpretive themes, charts, infographics, technical diagrams, and editable PowerPoint presentations, with a strong emphasis on video production and motion graphics. The Graphic Artist works with proposal managers, technical staff, senior designers, and other internal partners to develop and refine deliverables, follow government agency requirements and company branding standards, and meet deadlines. The role also applies AI-assisted creative tools, including Adobe Firefly and generative AI features in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, to support concept development and production of graphics, images, and video content.

Requirements

Three years of relevant experience with a bachelor's degree in a related field; one year of relevant experience with a master's degree in a related field; or a high school diploma or equivalent and seven years of relevant experience.
Experience with Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, and Adobe Lightroom.
Experience using Adobe After Effects, Adobe Premiere Pro, and Adobe Media Encoder to create and edit video and motion graphics.
Microsoft PowerPoint skills, including slide design, layout, formatting, and creation of editable graphics; proficiency in Microsoft Word.
Ability to translate concepts into visually clear and compelling graphics.
Working knowledge of generative AI tools, including Adobe Firefly, and ability to apply AI-assisted techniques to image creation, editing, and multimedia production.
Strong understanding of color theory, layout, typography, visual hierarchy, and visual storytelling.
Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and consistency across deliverables.
Ability to develop solutions to problems of moderate scope and complexity, using policies and practices for guidance.
Ability to work with internal company contacts to understand requirements.
Good communication, time-management, and organizational skills; ability to collaborate with internal stakeholders and manage multiple assignments under tight deadlines.

Nice To Haves

Experience supporting federal or defense proposals.
A portfolio showcasing proposal design and graphic design projects.
Creative, adaptable, eager to learn, collaborative, and open to constructive feedback.
Experience producing multi-minute videos (5–10 minutes), including storyflow, pacing, transitions, on-screen text, and basic audio cleanup.
Intermediate proficiency in Adobe After Effects and Premiere Pro, including creating animated sequences, branded motion elements, and explainer-style visuals.
Experience managing end-to-end editing timelines for longer video deliverables and incorporating stakeholder feedback.
Portfolio samples that include both static graphics and motion design or video editing work.

Responsibilities
