The Food Trust works with neighborhoods, institutions, retailers, farmers, and policymakers across the country to ensure delicious, nutritious food for all. Backed by three decades of research and evaluation, our holistic, community-centered approach to nutrition security weaves together three core programming elements — access, affordability and education — as well as a focus on advocating for public policy solutions. The Food Trust is seeking a strategic and detail-oriented Grants Writer/Manager to play a key role in securing the funding that supports our mission of ensuring delicious, nutritious food for all. This position leads the development and management of grant proposals that support programs expanding healthy food access, nutrition education and affordability in communities across the country. In this role, you will work closely with program leaders, finance staff, and senior leadership to identify funding opportunities, develop compelling grant proposals, and support stewardship of relationships with foundation, corporate, and government funders. The Grants Writer/Manager will serve as the organization’s primary grant writer and will oversee the full lifecycle of grant activity, from prospect research and proposal development to reporting and tracking outcomes. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys translating impactful work into compelling narratives, managing complex timelines, and collaborating across teams to support mission-driven programs.
