About The Position

This role involves processing applications and monitoring grant awards for a federal government agency, adhering to 2 CFR 200 regulations. The specialist will need familiarity with museum and/or library functions depending on the assigned grant program. For museum support, expertise in museum administration is required. For library support, an MLS or library program experience is necessary. For Native support, tribal eligibility expertise and familiarity with tribal governance requirements are essential. The position requires attention to detail, the ability to work independently after initial training, and experience with remote work. The specialist must be able to meet deadlines, plan work accurately, and understand agency policies, procedures, guidelines, and regulations, including IMLS instructions. A bachelor's degree in museum studies, library studies, or a related field (arts, humanities, sciences) is preferred. Excellent written and spoken English proficiency is required, along with experience communicating data-oriented issues verbally and in writing. The role also demands proficiency in Microsoft Office 360 (OneDrive, Excel, Teams), Adobe Acrobat Pro, and complex proprietary relational databases, as well as excellent data entry skills and the ability to handle and manipulate Adobe PDFs.

Requirements

  • At least two years of experience processing applications and monitoring grant awards for a federal government agency pursuant to 2 CFR 200.
  • Familiarity with museum and/or library functions based on the grant program assigned.
  • Demonstrated museum administration expertise (for museum support).
  • MLS or library program experience (for library support).
  • Tribal eligibility expertise and familiarity with tribal governance requirements (for Native support).
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Ability to work independently following initial orientation.
  • Experience in being trained and working remotely.
  • Ability to adhere to deadlines.
  • Ability to plan and process work accurately.
  • Knowledge of grant making in government organizations.
  • Ability to understand agency policies, procedures, guidelines, and regulations, and follow IMLS instructions.
  • Excellent proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • Experience in communicating in writing and verbally about data-oriented issues.
  • Must be a US citizen.
  • At least 6 months of experience using eGMS (at contract award through first three months).
  • Experience with an electronic grant management system (after first three months).
  • Completion of eGMS training (after first three months).
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office 360 including OneDrive, Excel, and Teams.
  • Highly proficient in Adobe Acrobat Pro.
  • Experience and comfort in working with complex proprietary relational databases.
  • Excellent data entry skills.
  • Ability to handle and manipulate Adobe PDFs.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree preferred in museum studies, library studies, and/or in a discipline relating to the arts, the humanities, or the sciences.
