What You’ll Do: The Ohio Office of Budget and Management (OBM) is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated student to join our team as a Grants Intern . This position offers hands-on experience in grants management and monitoring processes within state government. As a Grants Intern, you will work closely with OBM staff on projects that strengthen compliance and financial oversight. Interns will work between 24-32 hours per week in our downtown Columbus office. If selected, the primary workdays can be mutually agreed upon; we can work with your schedule. Requirements

  • Currently near completion of an undergraduate degree or enrolled in a graduate program (e.g., Master of Public Administration).
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work with complex data.
  • Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with financial accounting principles.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred fields of study\: Accounting or Public Administration (auditing coursework is helpful).
  • Prior experience with monitoring grants is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with subrecipient monitoring to ensure compliance with grant requirements.
  • Supporting the Single Audit Review Centralization Project , helping streamline processes and improve efficiency.
  • Analyzing complex financial data using tools such as Excel .
  • Collaborating with team members on monitoring and grants-related tasks.
