About The Position

The Grants & Data Specialist supports SALT Outreach's fundraising, reporting, compliance, and data management functions. This position serves as a key member of the Grants & Data Department, helping ensure the organization maintains strong grant stewardship, accurate program reporting, and data-driven decision making. The ideal candidate is highly organized, analytical, detail-oriented, and eager to develop expertise in nonprofit grants, program evaluation, and organizational strategy.   • Nonprofit management, public administration, communications, business, social sciences, statistics, or related fields preferred.
  • Relevant coursework or certifications in grant writing, data analysis, or project management is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain grant calendars, reporting schedules, and compliance requirements.
  • Track grant deliverables, outcomes, and reporting deadlines.
  • Coordinate with program staff to collect required data, narratives, and supporting documentation.
  • Prepare draft grant reports for review and submission.
  • Maintain grant files, contracts, agreements, and supporting documentation.
  • Assist with grant monitoring visits, audits, and funder requests.
  • Support budget tracking and reimbursement documentation.
  • Assist with data collection, validation, and reporting across organizational programs.
  • Generate reports from HMIS (Homeless Management Information System), CorSalis (internal system), and other data tracking systems.
  • Maintain outcome tracking tools and organizational dashboards.
  • Support data quality efforts and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assist with annual reports, impact reports, board reports, and program evaluations.
  • Analyze program outcomes and identify trends that support organizational decision-making.
  • Research funding opportunities and prospective grant funders.
  • Assist with proposal development and application assembly.
  • Draft organizational narratives, program descriptions, and supporting grant content.
  • Gather supporting documents and attachments for applications.
  • Maintain funding prospect pipelines and grant tracking systems.
  • Support stewardship activities and funder communications.
  • Assist with special projects, new initiatives, and organizational growth efforts.
  • Support strategic planning activities and cross-departmental initiatives.
  • Participate in process improvement efforts and system development projects.
  • Provide administrative and project management support for department priorities.
