About The Position

The North Carolina Administrative Office of the Courts (NCAOC), Financial Services Division, is seeking a qualified candidate to serve as a Grants Accountant. This position is responsible for ensuring that all contracts and grants are managed and in compliance with current State and Federal laws and regulations and that all grant activities and reports are submitted in a timely manner, and that all reimbursement requests are in compliance with all grant reporting guidelines and rules.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting and three (3) years of grants accounting and/or auditing experience at a professional level; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Working knowledge of the accounting cycle and the Federal Uniform Guidance.

Responsibilities

  • Assure that grants are funded, budgeted, and managed, and in compliance with State and Federal regulations.
  • Monitor grant cash flow; prepare grant financial reports; and process grant fund activity transactions.
  • Assist with budget development for new grants.
  • Prepare budget revisions, deposits, and other adjustments as necessary to ensure grant revenue and expenses are fully reconciled.
  • Review and monitor grant project expenditures, approve invoices, travel reimbursements and other expenses for payments.
  • Submit grant reports and reimbursement requests to various grantors; complete drawdown of federal funds.
  • Respond to requests for budget projections, account balances, expenditure detail, and other pertinent account information and questions from project directors and NCAOC staff.
  • Assist with preparation of the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR).
