About The Position

This position is eligible for hybrid-remote work following an initial training/onboarding period that will require an onsite presence. The duties of this position are primarily performed at the Salem HQ office located at 4034 Fairview Industrial Drive SE., Salem, OR. As a Grants Accountant (Accountant 2) in Salem, Oregon, you will ensure the accuracy, integrity and auditability of the agency financial records through verifications and reconciliation as one of a team of professional accountants in this agency. Requirements

  • Option 1: Possession of a Certified Public Accountant or Certified Government Financial Manager certificate AND two years of accounting experience equivalent to Accountant 1 work to include setting-up ledgers, account codes and controls, and modifying accounting systems;
  • OR-
  • Option 2: A Bachelor's degree in accounting, or in any discipline that includes or is supplemented by 32 quarter (21 semester) credit hours from an accredited institution in Accounting AND two years of accounting experience equivalent to Accountant 1 work to include setting-up ledgers, account codes and controls, and modifying accounting systems;
  • OR-
  • Option 3: 32 quarter (21 semester) credit hours from an accredited institution in Accounting AND four years of related accounting experience to include: classifying, analyzing, and reconciling financial data and records;
  • designing, recommending, and installing modifications of accounting methods, procedures, forms, and records;
  • preparing financial statements and reports;
  • analyzing and interpreting laws, regulations, codes, and ordinances to ensure the legality of financial transactions; and
  • analyzing, interpreting, and making recommendations related to accounting transactions, accounts, and account relationships resulting in accounting entries.
  • Note:
  • 15 quarter (10 semester) graduate-level accounting credit hours may substitute for one year of accounting experience
  • Graduate-level courses used to satisfy the educational requirement may not be used to satisfy the experience requirement.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using and applying Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • Experience using Excel, OBIEE, and PowerBI
  • Experience using SFMA/RStars
  • Experience with complex accounting systems
