About The Position

The Grant Writing Intern will work with Charity Champions to identify and secure grant funding for nonprofits. This role involves researching potential grants, drafting proposals, and communicating the organization's mission to funders. Interns will also be responsible for grant reporting and analyzing nonprofit needs to support grant applications. A significant portion of the work hours will be spent at the organization's offices, and interns will attend weekly meetings and have regular contact with the nonprofits they serve.

Requirements

• Must be a student employee.
• Ability to work 10-20 hours per week.
• Must spend 50% of clocked-in time working at the organization's offices.

Responsibilities

• Identify 10 viable grants and draft 5 proposals to foundations and other grant-making organizations each semester, with at least 3 finalized and submitted by semester's end.
• Persuasively communicate the organization’s mission and programs to potential funders.
• Research potential leads for government, corporate, and foundation grants.
• Research statistics, facts, and relevant local and national information to support each of the Charity Champions.
• Comply with all grant reporting as required by government/foundations/corporate donors.
• Attend weekly meetings with the intern team to update on work progress.
• Have at least 1 “touch point” meeting with the organization they serve per week.
• Analyze and identify needs within the nonprofits that grants will support.
